Legendary girl-group HEART is coming to the Hollywood Bowl for two-nights this month, Friday August 21st and Saturday, August 22nd. I remember listening to the music of HEART when I was in college. The American rock band first found success in Canada and later in the United States and worldwide. Over the group’s four-decade history it has had three primary lineups, with the constant center of the group since 1974 being sisters Ann Wilson (lead singer) and Nancy Wilson (guitarist). Heart rose to fame in the mid-1970s with music influenced by hard rock, heavy metal, as well as folk music. In the early 80s, its popularity declined slightly, but a comeback was in store in 1985 with even greater success into the 1990s.
Next week, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legends Ann and Nancy Wilson will electrify the Bowl in these special concerts with orchestra. With sizzling riffs – “Crazy On You” and “Barracuda”– and massive anthems – “What About Love?” and “These Dreams” – Heart will be delivering the galloping guitars and inspired vocals of authentic rock and roll.
