What do two jockeys and a brewer have in common? Find out at The Del Mar Racetrack’s next Craft Beer Festival coming up on Saturday, August 29. Ballast Point Brewery and top jockey from the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Aaron Gryder teamed up earlier this month to concoct a special hoppy batch inspired by the place where the turf meets the surf.
Del Mar worked closely with Ballast Point brewers from their Little Italy R&D location to create a refreshing and bold IPA with just a hint of citrus, reminiscent of the freshly trimmed turf. Only one batch was made so this beer will go quick! This exclusive brew will only be untapped at Del Mar’s next Craft Beer Festival and will be served out of Ballast Point’s Little Italy tasting room while it lasts (only eight kegs!).
Along with the special brew (named Double Jockey IPA) there will be over 100 different craft brews to taste starting from noon-6 p.m. in the Seaside Concert area. Entrance to the beer fest is free with admission and only $20 for five, seven-ounce tastes.
To purchase pre-sale tickets, please visit this link. The pre-sale package includes racetrack Stretch Run admission and Beer Fest wristband good for five 7oz samples.
I have a pack of four Clubhouse admission tickets and parking pass, to give away to this really fun event. Please leave me a comment as to why you would like to attend the Del Mar Beer Fest. Entries close on Tuesday, August 25th.
