Disney’s THE LION KING, based on the animated film of the same name is a musical with a score created by Hans Zimmer, lyrics by Rim Rice and music by the legendary Elton John. The musical features actors in animal costumes as well as giant, hollow puppets mimicking the entire Serengeti coming to life.
Next month (October 6th through November 1st, 2015), Segerstrom Center for the Arts will play host to THE LION KING. In its 18th year, the musical remains ascendant as one of the most popular stage musicals in the world.
Translated into seven different languages (Japanese, German, Korean, French, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese), productions of THE LION KING can currently be seen on Broadway; London’s West End; Hamburg; Tokyo; Madrid; Melbourne, Australia; Basel, Switzerland; Mexico City; and on tour across North America and Japan, for a total of ten productions running concurrently across the globe.
