The Book of Mormon returns to Orange County for a limited time beginning Tuesday, March 22 until Sunday, April 3rd, 2016. This religious satire musical features book, lyrics and music by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone, best known for creating South Park. The story follows two Mormon missionaries as they attempt to share their scriptures with the inhabitants of a remote Ugandan village. The earnest young men are challenged by the disinterest of the locals, who are occupied by more pressing troubles such as AIDS, famine, and oppression from a warlord.
The show opened on Broadway in March 2011, and since then has garnered overwhelming success nationwide. I caught the production the last time it stopped by Orange County and can’t wait to see it again this time around! Make sure you don’t miss it!
