Last month, Moulin, the French bistro in Newport Beach that I’m absolutely enamored with, started a French wine tasting and education series. Each month, the bistro will host a region-specific wine tasting and education course led by French wine experts
I attended the very first sold-out event on Saturday, February 20th, where we were treated to a tasting of wines from the Bordeaux region, in southwestern France, led by Alain Visinoni, a wine expert who has been in the business for decades.
Priced at $29 per person, the interactive courses will guide attendees on a tasting journey through the different growing regions. During each course, guests will taste four to six French wines from a particular region as they learn to identify unique nuances and flavor profiles.
The series will go beyond tasting notes, and dive deep into the growing region itself, touching on terroir and fermentation practices.
Wines are complemented with Moulin’s cheese & charcuterie boards and artisan bread.
And the best part? You’ll actually be able to purchase the wines you’ve tasted to take home with you at the end of the course.
Moulin’s French wine tastings and education courses will be held on the following dates from 5pm to 7pm (although we stayed way past that time to enjoy the music and company:
