Plus so much more.

I love love love the seasonal orange cupcake at Frosted Cupcakery in Belmont Shore (Long Beach), CA. The cake part is moist and the frosting is not overly sweet. It really does taste like orange, and the white chocolate shavings add a nice touch of texture and pop.

I love all types of Chocolate Lava Cakes!!
Trina D. says
I love homemade pumpkin pie, from scratch.

Amazing desserts that didn’t come from my hand? Hard one… The macarons from Pistachio Vera in Columbus, Ohio are quite amazing. The banana bread pudding from Lola Gaspar in Santa Ana is a partial favorite while the creme brulee fired from Cafe Hiro in Cypress is absolutely to die for. The mini cupcakes are Miss Priss’ in Long Beach are amazing and innovative with a different presentation for regular flavors.

I’m a cobbler gal so the warm apple walnut cobbler at Houston’s (make sure you ask for 2 scoops of vanilla bean) or the mixed berry cobbler at Haute Cakes in Newport and again the 2 scoop vanilla bean is a must especially when the cobbler is served nice and warm. Instead of cake I usually get either of the above for my birthday 😉

Thanks for the update Anita. I have to read your blog more.

One of my favorite desserts would be the original deconstructed rocky road ice cream from Chego in LA. When Chef Roy was working the restaurant, it was literally perfection! Chocolate ice cream, salted almonds, creamy caramel with housemade marshmallow fluff and a unique candied cherry to top it off. I miss it!

My current obsession is the Salted Caramel PushCake by Meringue Bake Shop at the OC Great Park Farmer’s Market. Sweet and salty layers upon layers of buttercream with really great vanilla cake. Yum. I could eat them every meal. Seriously.

I love all sugary goods, but I think my favorite dessert would be the Taiwanese brown sugar snow ice with 5 add-ins. I usually get pudding, boba, condensed milk, mango, and strawberry at Pa Pa Walk in San Gabriel. It is a mountain of delectable light fluffy milk ice and you are given brown sugar syrup to pour all over it… and the add-ins you choose are under that yummy pile of ice.
The best part is it is a great item to share with friends. One time we had two orders between 3 girls… I think I almost had a heart attack from the sugar rush!

Moo-lan Rouge from Chunk N Chip!

Ricotta mousse is one of my favorite desserts — recently discovered in a family-run restaurant a 200-person town in near Montalcino (Tuscany, Italy). Simple but heavenly!

Choosing one is hard. Would be in heaven at a Viennese dessert table. The Sacher Hotel’s Sacher or Punsch Torte is always a fave. This is accompanied, of course, by strong Viennese coffee.
