Are you one of those people who is constantly on the lookout for low carb options when you plan a meal? Last year, I find cauliflower to be a great substitute for rice. I make it several times, but it is tedious, so I am super stoked when I find these in the freezer section at the grocery store.
I’ve been asking friends who make cauliflower crusts for their pizzas to give me a recipe, but who needs one now that there’s Outer Aisle Gourmet‘s cauliflower products. Said to be the nation’s first gluten-free, low-carb cauliflower pizza crusts and cauliflower sandwich thins, these are perfect to use in place of bread!
Made from fresh cauliflower and baked, these low calorie, low glycemic index, nutrient dense and Paleo-friendly cauliflower wraps are absolutely perfect for people like me who won’t be spending a lot of time in the kitchen trying to make it from scratch.
The sandwich thins remind me of blinis in texture. It’s not quite firm enough to use but if you toast it a little longer, it does become more solid. The pizza crust is the same — toast it a bit first before placing toppings and then bake again. It works really well when you want a low carb alternative.
The Outer Aisle line is available at Whole Foods Market and other natural food stores in California and is also available for purchase online.
