Dinner was a few hours ago, and now, I’m watching TV, but hankering for something to munch on. I usually have a slew of “healthier” snacks available — much to the chagrin of my son — and popcorn is one of them.
I recently chanced upon Gaslamp Popcorn’s newest flavor — Malibu Mix. This new fusion flavor combines the company’s signature Sea Salt & Olive Oil, White Cheddar and Kettle Corn flavors. Initially, I am not sure how I would like it, but honestly, it is like a mouthful of surprise depending what is hitting the palate each time.
Malibu Mix is light but delivers a sweet, salty and savory flavor profiles. You’re also looking at half the calories typically found in traditional popcorn mixes. Gaslamp Popcorn is made with non-GMO corn that stands on the promise of being gluten-free.
With only 50 calories per serving — yeah, let’s multiply that by five when I’m doing the eating — I don’t feel so guilty over-indulging.
You can find all Gaslamp’s four popcorn varieties at major retailers across California, including Safeway, Vons, Winco, Ralphs and Albertson’s. Current flavors, including Sea Salt & Olive Oil, Kettle Corn, Cinnamon Caramel and White Cheddar.
