Last Friday night, more than 2,000 people gathered at the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles for the 3rd annual local edition of Le Dîner en Blanc®, the world’s largest global pop-up dinner party, partnered with Apothic White wine. It was my first ever Le Dîner en Blanc® and what an experience it was.
At approximately 6.45pm, buses loaded with hoards of people arrive and a swarm of participants, all dressed in white, descended upon the courtyard between the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and Mark Taper Forum. What an incredible sight!
Participants rushed to secure a spot and began setting up their tables, chairs and tablescapes (all of which are brought by the attendees) before they settle into their seats with their friends for a night to remember.
Attendees bring their own food, and those who want wine for the evening have to order the bottles when registering, and then, the Apothic Wines are picked up from the venue. There is no beer or spirits allowed at the event.
Around 7.15pm, the event officially kicks off with the twirling of the napkins. Walking around, we see elaborate setups and get-ups, ranging from the ethereal to the whimsical.
There are no words to describe the event, so here are a host of photos to give you a glimpse of this fantastic global event.
