There are two things I always have an ample supply of: gourmet sea salts and HOT SAUCE! I have about seven to nine different options readily available so I always have the right sauce to pair with the right food.
Founded by The Offspring frontman Dexter Holland, Gringo Bandito is a southern Californian brand that’s been making hot sauce for the last 12 years. I’m super picky when it comes to hot sauces, and this is one of the brands at the top of my list. Why? Because hot sauce shouldn’t taste only of heat and nothing else! There should be a balance of flavors to enhance the food, not just make you burn your mouth.
It all began when Holland created his hot sauces as gifts for friends and family. In 2013, a spicy green hot sauce was released carrying on their tradition of mixing amazing flavor with a tolerable heat level. On Cinco de Mayo 2015, Gringo Bandito released its third hot sauce product called Super Hot, which contains jolokia and scorpion peppers, taking the heat level closer to intolerable.
Gringo Bandito also releases a limited ‘Private Reserve’ version of their sauce featuring unique packaging and a flavor profile that changes every year.
The best thing about Gringo Bandito is that there is 70% less salt than other major competitors, contains no preservatives, and is paleo friendly, gluten free and all natural. Try it next time you’re at Chronic Tacos or Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, or you may purchase directly from the Gringo Bandito website, Amazon.com and in major grocery chains such as Kroger, Whole Foods, and Albertsons/Safeway.

Gringo Bandito has generously offered one of my readers the opportunity to WIN a 3-pack of hot sauces. Please leave a comment (with your full name) to enter. Entries close on Sunday, Dec 25th, 2017.

I love their hot sauce – have the regular one at home! I’ve never had their private reserve sauce, so I’d love to try it!

I LOVE hotsauce! I lived in Mexico for two years and I love anything hot and trying different types of hot sauces. I totally agree with you that hot sauce should be a balance of heat and flavor so I am very interested in trying these if they have that balance!

ah, well I love anything hot and spicy plus I collect as well as use, this will sound terrible but I do have 1 bottle of Gringo Bandito’s hot sauce somewhere in my collection gifted to me by friends but I don’t open them unless I have another for display. Love The Offspring and and from what accounts I’ve seen the sauce is really good as well 🙂

I’m a huge Offspring fan which is why I originally tried Gringo Bandito and it’s been my favorite hot sauce for years. I’ve turned on many friends to it over the years but I still haven’t tried the Super Hot edition myself. Gotta get me some! 👍😉

I agree with you. A hot sauce that only adds heat is not a good hot sauce. It either needs to have it’s own distinct flavor or accentuate the flavors of the meal in some way.

I’ve never tried Gringo Bandito, but since the hot sauce tolerability level varies quite a bit in our household, this trio would be a fun way to test a new flavor!
