DELISH DISH: Amritsari Tikka

January 31, 2017 Mad Hungry Woman Leave a Comment

When ADYA opened at Anaheim Packing House several years ago, I was elated, but also slightly bummed. Elated because finally, there’s Indian food I can eat on a regular basis, and bummed because it’s in Anaheim. But now, there is a second location at UCI, which is less than 10 minutes away from me.

I love Indian food, but most restaurants offer up dishes that are too heavy to eat regularly as it leaves me in a comatose state after eating. ADYA is different. Chef Shachi and her partner Chef Sandeep’s menu is fresh, clean, and light. It is the food I remember eating at friends’ homes.

Everything I’ve eaten off the menu is delicious, but right now, my favorite dish is Amritsari Chicken Tikka ($12.49). It started off as a special, but has made its way onto the permanent menu! These chunks of beautifully seasoned tender chicken sit on a bed of lemon rice with a side of salad and raita (cucumber yogurt sauce). I’ve gone back twice in the last week because I can’t get enough of it. I get the feeling it might be time to go again very soon.

About Me

This blog is a journal of mostly my eating adventures, but also, other things I'm passionate about, including travel, the arts, and also, necessities to complete my life. Centered predominantly in and around Orange County, CA, some will extend to Los Angeles, San Diego and beyond. I am constantly searching for delicious food to eat and fun things to do, nothing is out of bounds. Sometimes it doesn't end well, but I can definitely say, it will always be an interesting journey.
