If you’re obsessed by food videos by Tasty, Buzzfeed or any other outlets, then I’m sure you’ve seen the one of the ice cream curls from Thailand by now. My friend raved about it after she returned from Bangkok and although I’ve seen them at various Asian night markets around Orange County, I didn’t try it until now.
Stax Cookie Bar at UCI’s University Center in Irvine, known for their ice cream cookie sandwiches, has launched its version of the ice cream rolls and we wanted to check them out.
I met up with a friend and his kids (who love sugar by the way) to taste some of the offerings. I was immediately attracted to the black sesame ice cream, while my friend orders the matcha green tea and strawberry. The kids chose scoops of ice cream as well as a Smookie, a warm soft cookie topped with a scoop of ice cream.
