My son is a huge fan of baklava. He will want a piece if he sees it, regardless whether it’s good or not. I’ve eaten my fair share of Middle Eastern sweets, and frankly, they are usually WAY too sweet for my palate.
I came across Arabic Sweets through a friend of mine, when a box of hand-crafted baklava arrived in my mailbox. The baklava is unlike any others you’ve eaten. Why? Because these bars are not doused with syrup and not sticky. The nuts are hand-crushed and there are several varieties to choose from.
I was so enamored by them I decided to learn more about the company. Arabic Sweets specializes in Middle Eastern pastries, and besides the baklava, there is a range of items you might find enticing. If you’re a fan of Nutella, then you’re in store for a treat. The made-from-scratch ‘nutella’ is what you’ll find incorporated into the Nutella Baklava rolls.
Then there are petit fours: my favorites are the crescent butter cookies sandwiched with hand-crafted marmalade.
The crushed pistachio crescent butter cookies are also exceptional.
The marzipan cookies stuffed with pistachios are to-die-for, and are so delicate with that almost melt-in-the-mouth texture, the minute you bite into one.
Arabic Sweets is a collaboration between Samar, and her daughter Sarah whose mission is to bring the sophistication of age old Middle Eastern pastries with modern twists to dessert lovers all across the board. Samar’s love of cooking and food resulted in a restaurant in Redondo Beach which provided a hybrid version of Middle Eastern and Lebanese cuisine.
Cafe Sarah’s healthy menu was nutritious, delicious, and fast. The restaurant is no longer, however, catering continued, and now, with more than 10 years’ experience in the culinary industry, Samar and Sarah founded Arabic Sweets with the same vision and intention to create quality Middle Eastern pastries to a wide audience nationwide.
I was so impressed with Samar and Sarah’s products I want to share them with you. For more information on Arabic Sweets, or to peruse the range of products, please visit their website by clicking here.

Oh, my gosh, those look so good. I love baklava but I have very little talent when it comes to baking pastries. I’d love to win this for that reason! I love to eat pastries like this but clearly I need someone else to make them, lol!
