>Bob’s Big Boy — big and bad

December 26, 2008 Mad Hungry Woman Leave a Comment

>Believe it or not, I’ve never been to a Bob’s Big Boy before. Nope…. never. So as we walked into one, I was surprised that it wasn’t a fast food place, but rather, similar to a Denny’s or IHOP. My husband told me the burgers were good, but I wasn’t in the mood. I wanted a club sandwich — on rye bread. The server was pleasant enough. I asked for my sandwich to be light on the mayo. Hey, my sandwich was good. I didn’t like husband’s burger. It had some weird sauce on it. My sandwich was so good even my son liked it. There was plenty of turkey, bacon, tomato, lettuce, not too much mayo and on rye — my favorite. You can get onion rings instead of fries and they’re pretty good, surprisingly not greasy. Even the fries weren’t greasy. Usually stuff like that leave your fingers oily, but not these. I’d come back for the club, but definitely not for their signature burger.

We visited Bob’s Big Boy, 2860 Lenwood Road, Barstow, CA 92311. Tel: 760-253-5107. Various locations, check out website at http://www.bigboy.com

About Me

This blog is a journal of mostly my eating adventures, but also, other things I'm passionate about, including travel, the arts, and also, necessities to complete my life. Centered predominantly in and around Orange County, CA, some will extend to Los Angeles, San Diego and beyond. I am constantly searching for delicious food to eat and fun things to do, nothing is out of bounds. Sometimes it doesn't end well, but I can definitely say, it will always be an interesting journey.
