Yes, California never gets THAT cold, especially here in southern Cali so dongchimigooksu can be enjoyed throughout the year if you choose. Dongchimigooksu is a Korean cold noodle soup with kimchi broth as the base. It is a vegetarian bowl of goodness and it is very refreshing with a slight tartness to offset the bit of sweetness as well. Served with a slice of tomato, some julienned cucumbers and daikon, plus some ice cubes thrown in for good measure and there you have it. The noodles should be chewy and the ones here are just perfect. This place also serves up some of the best mandoo (dumplings) I’ve had by far in the area! Homemade and highly tasty, you can opt for steamed or pan fried! I recommend the steamed!

Hangari Kalgooksu, 9916 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove, CA 92844. Tel: 714-537-0100

About Me

This blog is a journal of mostly my eating adventures, but also, other things I'm passionate about, including travel, the arts, and also, necessities to complete my life. Centered predominantly in and around Orange County, CA, some will extend to Los Angeles, San Diego and beyond. I am constantly searching for delicious food to eat and fun things to do, nothing is out of bounds. Sometimes it doesn't end well, but I can definitely say, it will always be an interesting journey.
