Lose Weight By Eating

As summer approaches in California, we see an influx of folks battling to lose weight to get into swimsuit shape. Losing weight is difficult enough, and like so many Americans, author Audrey Johns was struggling with fad diets and constant weight gain, nearing the 300lb mark, eating under 1,000 calories per day of frozen “diet” meals and still gaining weight. After trying every major diet out there (and some scary ones too!), Audrey sees no lasting results and more broke than ever before. That’s when she decides to go back to the basics.

Audrey teaches herself how to cook and transforms her favorite foods into skinny versions. After only a year of eating her new skinny recipes, she goes from a size 24 to a size 4, losing over 150 pounds in 11 months. Lose Weight By Eating takes more than 130 recipes that are typically full of unhealthy processed foods and empty calories, and turns them into healthier, skinny versions which we can enjoy on a daily basis should we choose to.

Recipes such as Creamy Mac and Cheese uses unsweetened almond milk in place of cream, and low fat versions of pastas and pizzas, all with fewer than 500 calories per serving. There are breakfast options, entrees, as well as some sweet treats for those who need a little something something after a meal.

My favorite recipes include: Jalapeno Cheddar Scones, Slow Cooker Marinara with Meatballs, Cilantro Rice, and Garlic Rosemary Slow-Roasted Whole Chicken.
