Last week, Melissa’s Produce hosted an event featuring PBS personality Julie Taboulie, and her new book, Lebanese Kitchen. We were treated to a spread of delicious dishes from Julie’s new book. Julie was on hand to sign copies of her book and demonstrate some of her recipes while a crowd of food industry folks watched on.
My favorite recipe in the book is Makbouseh (summer squash stew), which incidentally, I’ve already made twice. There are others in the book I’ve bookmarked such as Ejjeh (fresh herb omelette) and Bemyeh b Lahem (baby okra, lamb and tomato stew).
The recipes are easy to follow and the book is absolutely stunning, with incredible photos and a hard cover to boot. It will be a wonderful kitchen companion, or a gift for a friend. You can find Julie Taboulie’s Lebanese Kitchen on Amazon.com.
