If you’ve read my review of Lido Bottle Works from last year, you’ll know that this little eatery is a hidden gem tucked away in a Newport Beach plaza on the water. During weekends, the restaurant features a menu of gorgeous presentations which not only feeds the eyes, but also, the soul.
One of my favorites is Cold Smoked Salmon Toast ($14) a plate of rye bread topped with avocado mash, slices of beautifully hued smoked salmon dotted with bits of green olive relish. It is served with a shallot cream which adds a little kick to the salmon, but not needed. I love smoked salmon, especially ones created in-house and not overly salty. This cold smoked salmon is silky and wonderfully pleasant on the palate.
