The acai bowl craze has been going on for quite some time, but honestly, I’ve never been a fan — until now! Usually, I find them overly sweet, and the huge bowls most places offer tend to overwhelm me.
At Berry Brand, you can customize your bowls with acai, pitaya, and chia — there are two versions, a warm pitaya chia, as well as a cold matcha. There is a choice of granola — there are three to choose from — before filling up your bowl with fruit, and other various toppings.
Another thing I really like is they offer three different sizes, so for someone like me, a small or medium will suffice, not to mention how mildly sweet our concoctions were.
I kept eating both bowls trying to figure out which I like better — pitaya or acai — and frankly, I liked both equally. Next time, I will ask for a little more granola as the crunch, infused with the slushy effects of the pitaya and acai work so well together. Even after the slush has melted into liquid form, the granola remains crunchy and continues giving that textural contrast that I so love.
Berry Brand’s grand opening is this Saturday, May 26th, 2018 (in the location where Spice & Tulips used to be).
