Looking for a place to enjoy some nibbles and grab a few drinks after work? Bistango has a new happy hour menu that’s worth stopping by for. Lounge at the outside patio and enjoy music from a jazz quartet. The only thing that may be bothersome is the smell of smoke wafting from cigarette and cigar aficionados who may be puffing away while you’re trying to enjoy your food.
Of course, happy hour isn’t complete with a handful of cocktails, and there are several to choose from. My favorites are the Coconut Mango Margarita ($14) and the Coconut Mojito ($14).
Start with a simple, but all-around favorite — Bistango’s Guacamole ($12) prepared with Fresno jalapeno, and served with crispy tortilla chips.
I’m always a fan of chicken wings and Buffalo Chicken Wings ($13) do not disappoint. I wish they served it with the traditional blue cheese sauce instead of the cucumber sauce, which was on the bland side.
Yellowfin Tuna Poke ($19) is sushi rice topped with avocado, carrots, sweet onions, cucumber, seaweed salad, and tossed in a spicy soy sauce. If you’re a poke lover, you’ll enjoy this item.
If you’re a fan of lamb, definitely order the Curry Marinated Single Lamb Chop ($12). It is packed with flavor and served with potato puree, carrots, and finished in a Kalamata sauce.
Several items for the meat lovers: Kobe Beef Sliders ($15) is a classic cheeseburger-style sandwich using Swiss (instead of American) cheese, a pinch of arugula for freshness, and meaty portobello mushrooms.
Shanghai Style Braised Pork Belly ($17) is served with sushi rice, and garnished with sesame seeds, scallions, and cilantro.
My favorite is the Korean Barbecue Short Ribs of Beef ($19) which sees a brush of Korean BBQ sauce, garnished with scallions and cilantro, and served with sushi rice.
During happy hour, all Tapas items are $5 off. Happy Hour Bar Lounge Patio 4-7pm Mon-Fri 5-7pm Saturday.
