Those who know me know that I’m a sucker when it comes to chicken wings and order it every chance I get. I am picky though when it comes to this delightful finger food. They have to be crispy on the outside, while still possessing moistness within. The seasonings must be complementary and appealing to the environment and whatever you are accompanying the wings with. Here are five, in no particular order:
Sessions West Coast Deli (Irvine)
Although Sessions is known for its fantastic sandwiches, the chicken wings are absolutely fabulous as well. Chili Garlic Wings in house bang sauce, served over SoCal slaw is what I’m all about. One order is never quite enough if I’m expected to share them! Available only at the Irvine location, and at dinner.
TAPS Brewery and Tasting Room
Grab a beer and some bites from the TAPS food truck parked outside the brewery. There are two styles of wings available — buffalo and Vietnamese style — but I highly recommend the Vietnamese wings. They are super crispy and tossed in a citrus dressing, which does not cause the wings to lose their crispiness, even after sitting for more than 15 minutes.

Another Kind Cafe
Traditional salt and pepper wings done right. This little cafe located in the canyon is hard to see, and I’ll have to admit, I had no idea it was there until my friends told me about it. This Vietnamese cafe serves up some legit food, but the wings are definitely one of my favorites.
The Vox Kitchen
Every time I am at Vox Kitchen, I always order the chicken wings. They’re garlic crusted and extremely crispy on the outside and scorching hot on the inside. Bite into them and you’ll expose tender, moist meat on the inside. Served with a Sriracha aioli sauce.
Parallel Pizza
Come for the pizza, but stay for the wings. Sure, the pizza is great, but I’m all about the wings. The Sweet & Spicy Wings are tossed in a glaze made of honey, chile, thyme, lemon and hot sauce. They’re sticky, but the wings are still texturally awesome!
