Moulin opens in Laguna Beach

September 28, 2016 Mad Hungry Woman Leave a Comment

Moulin Laguna Beach opened its doors yesterday in the old Scandia Bakery location. A handful of people were already waiting before the cafe opened at 6am. The Laguna location is smaller than its Newport Beach sibling, but still oozing a ton of French charm and character. Laguna diners can now indulge in those Croque Monsieur, […]

Byzantine Mezze class by Spice & Tulips

September 26, 2016 Mad Hungry Woman Leave a Comment

I attended a cooking class at The Hood Kitchen yesterday held by Tarkan Kardaslar and his wife Marissa of Spice & Tulips. Their shop at Union Market at The District in Tustin is a cornucopia of delights, with the best spices you’ll ever encounter. I love hanging out with Tarkan and Marissa. Tarkan is extremely passionate […]

El Mercado Modern Cuisine opens in Santa Ana

Over the weekend, Chef Daniel Godinez’s long awaited El Mercado opened in downtown Santa Ana two doors down from Yost Theater. There is a little social media buzz, but mostly, a quiet opening. It is my second day in New Orleans and it is going to be a crazy day of eating. I am surprised I am up early after a difficult night. I fall asleep around 5am and wake to my alarm going off at 8am. I check the temperature outside on my phone so I have […]

I didn’t have a category in which to place these last few restaurants I love, so here they are in no particular order. These restaurants have been solid contenders in my dining repertoire this year and hopefully, will continue to impress in 2015. Starting with Los Angeles County, Dominique’s Kitchen in Redondo Beach has been winning us […]

About Me

This blog is a journal of mostly my eating adventures, but also, other things I'm passionate about, including travel, the arts, and also, necessities to complete my life. Centered predominantly in and around Orange County, CA, some will extend to Los Angeles, San Diego and beyond. I am constantly searching for delicious food to eat and fun things to do, nothing is out of bounds. Sometimes it doesn't end well, but I can definitely say, it will always be an interesting journey.
