>Valhalla Table — sausage and beer

The idea of a Gastropub culture has only started to hit California and once that phenomena dropped its claws, these beer drinking establishments which serves food has sprung up like weeds. My last review, though posted months ago, was on Haven Gastropub in Orange, CA and since then, Valhalla Table has cropped up serving homemade sausages of a different kind and a host of beers from across the globe. I’ve been here several times now and while the consistency hasn’t always been good, the sausages which have hit the mark have. I’ve enjoyed the bratwurst and spicy andouille as well as the blueberry beer and the exceptional pear cider. The restaurant is sparse and minimalist and the one bathroom really doesn’t fare well when the place is packed with people who have consumed beer after beer after beer. However, this place has great potential and hopefully, once they’ve worked out the obvious kinks, I hope they flourish to become the Wurstkuche of Orange County!

    >If you like gastropubs check out SideDoor in Corona del Mar. It's the most authentic American one I've encountered. The food and staff were amazing.

About Me

This blog is a journal of mostly my eating adventures, but also, other things I'm passionate about, including travel, the arts, and also, necessities to complete my life. Centered predominantly in and around Orange County, CA, some will extend to Los Angeles, San Diego and beyond. I am constantly searching for delicious food to eat and fun things to do, nothing is out of bounds. Sometimes it doesn't end well, but I can definitely say, it will always be an interesting journey.
