Tommy Bahama’s Flavors of the Southern Coast + giveaway

November 23, 2016 Mad Hungry Woman 12 Comments

Two years ago, Tommy Bahama launched their first cookbook Flavors of Aloha: Cooking with Tommy Bahama, a beautiful addition to my ever-growing cookbook collection. So many island favorites were included in that gorgeous book. Now, the second edition Flavors of the Southern Coast: Cooking with Tommy Bahama is available, just in time for the holidays.

Flavors of the Southern Coast is a tribute to the incredible foods and artisan cocktails served in the 16 Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar locations found the world over. Like the first book, Flavors of the Southern Coast offers stunning pictorials and wonderful recipes interwoven with storied character epitomizing the brand’s relaxed lifestyle.

Partnering once again with best-selling author and American chef, Rick Rodgers, Flavors of the Southern Coast showcases the rich Southern heritage which has influenced its cooking traditions. Rodgers has chosen to share a sampling of his own savored dishes with Flavors of the Southern Coast readers such as Smoked and Baked Texas Brisket, BBQ Shrimp with Spicy Beer Sauce and Smothered Green Beans.

Flavors of the Southern Coast features over 100 recipes and serves up an abundance of simply delicious soups, salads, seafood, poultry, desserts, cocktails and so much more.  Many creations are Tommy Bahama Restaurants and Bars specialties and customer favorites that continues to stir the palate including its Seafood Avocado Cocktail, Crab Bisque, Baby Back Ribs with Blackberry Brandy Sauce, Quinoa Succotash, and of course, its signature Key Lime Pie.

Flavors of The Southern Coast: Cooking with Tommy Bahama is available at Tommy Bahama retail stores and tommybahama.com. It is the definitive cookbook that welcomes family and friends to gather at the table and share in the casually cultivated charms of the Gulf Coast states. A perfect holiday gift for that avid cook in your life.

Tommy Bahama has generously offered one of my readers the opportunity to WIN a copy of Flavors of The Southern Coast: Cooking with Tommy Bahama. Please leave a comment below and tell me why you’d like to WIN it, and if you’re planning to keep it for yourself, or who you would be giving it to. Entries close on Friday, December 2nd, 2016.

Oh, I would definitely like this for myself, ha! I’m Kentucky-born & bred, so I love Southern cooking, but I had no idea there was a Tommy Bahama cookbook that covered the ‘Southern Coast’ cooking. I’d love to give some of these recipes a try!

My husband wants this book for a Christmas present. He looked through it while I was shopping at the Tommy Bahama store and showed me all the wonderful meals, many reminiscent of his years living in the south. Funny thing though, I’m the cook. So this will be for the both of us to enjoy. I love to make meals and especially when the dish is well received. pick me, pick me!!!

I would love to win this Tommy Bahama cookbook because cooking is a passion of mine and I love to experiment and trying new recipes. I would absolutely love it if I had won it because I’d be able to test out these recipes in the kitchen. It would be a cool cookbook to add to my collection.

I would love to give this to my girlfriend for Christmas! We got a bunch of new cooking tools over Black Friday and this would be a great place to start and make some perfect date nights!

I LOVE cooking and cooking for other people! I will read a cookbook like others would read a novel! The overview of the book sounds like a book that I would pour through with gusto while liking my lips in anticipation. Yes, I would keep the book for myself, but will, with pleasure, share it’s riches with friends and family.

I’ve been to several Tommy Bahamas and always order the Chicken Tortilla Soup, which is the best soup I’ve had anywhere. I always ask for the recipe but have never been able to get it. Just noticed this new cookbook at the Honolulu store and saw that the recipe is in it. Asked again for the recipe, and this time I got the ingredients but no recipe, and it wasn’t the same as in the cookbook anyway. I love the food at TBs and hope to be able to make this soup and many of the other recipes in this fine cookbook.

I recently went to Hawaii with my mom and she fell in love with the Parmesan crusted Sanibel chicken with Red Pepper cream sauce! This cookbook has that recipe and I would love to win it and gift it to her with a photo album of our trip. I know it would make her Christmas so very special!

I also meant to say: my mom and dad lived in Louisiana for many years when they were first married. They moved back to CA when I was very little, but my mom has such affection for the south and this cookbook would bring back many wonderful memories– full hearts & stomachs!
