5 OC poke spots to check out

September 20, 2017 Mad Hungry Woman Leave a Comment

Cubed – one of my favorite poke spots in OC is Cubed, located inside Union Market at The District in Tustin. There are signature bowls available, or, you may finagle your own bowl if you so choose. My two favorites are: Maila Bowl and Kupa Bowl.

House of Poke – this is one of the newer poke spots in OC and fast becoming one of my favorites in Costa Mesa. Everything tastes super fresh, and home-made. The sauces are great, and they are generous with portions.

Megadon – Dos Chinos’ owner Hop Phan’s bowl concept includes an array of poke bowls that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but delicious as well. Great flavor combinations along with the freshest of ingredients make for a perfect poke bowl.

Project Poke – from the guys who brought you AFTERS, and so much more, Project Poke is a creative an innovative spot where not only are you getting the tastiest poke bowls, but also, they’re the first to bring items such as the sushi donut to the fore.

Pokeworks – Pokeworks’ newest chef-collaborator, Sheldon Simeon is an alumnus of Bravo’s Top Chef and the executive chef/owner of Maui’s Tin Roof. He has crafted a series of Signature Works for Pokéworks with ingredients that draw inspiration from the mix of cultures he grew up with in Hawaii. Choose one of the signature bowls, or create your own from the myriad of toppings available.

About Me

This blog is a journal of mostly my eating adventures, but also, other things I'm passionate about, including travel, the arts, and also, necessities to complete my life. Centered predominantly in and around Orange County, CA, some will extend to Los Angeles, San Diego and beyond. I am constantly searching for delicious food to eat and fun things to do, nothing is out of bounds. Sometimes it doesn't end well, but I can definitely say, it will always be an interesting journey.
