Taste of the Nation returns this month to Laguna Beach

April 30, 2018 Mad Hungry Woman 1 Comment

The annual Laguna Beach Taste of the Nation will once again be held at Montage Laguna Beach this year. This exciting and delicious culinary event of the year, benefiting Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry incentive is in its 11th year, and will once again see some of OC’s culinary finest participating.

On Sunday, May 20th, 2018, you can be a part of this incredible event, set against the backdrop of the sprawling Pacific Ocean. Expect to mingle with fellow food lovers, while indulging in scrumptious bite-sized fare, sipping on fine wines, craft cocktails and nibbling on delectable desserts.

This year’s chef line up includes former “Top Chef” contender Chef Amar Santana and Chef Joe Sasto, second runner-up on the most recent season of “Top Chef”, as well as Studio Host Chefs Craig Strong and Julia Browne. Joining them will be Chef Brian Huskey of Tackle Box – local grub shack in Corona Del Mar; Chef Eric Samaniego of Michael’s on Naples Ristorante in Long Beach; Chef Bryant Taylor of Chianina Steakhouse in Long Beach; and entrepreneurial gastronomist and former “Top Chef” contestant Chef Marcel Vigneron, owner of Wolf/Beefsteak in Los Angeles.

To add to the fun, there will be a live auction conducted by Dan Dotson of A&E’s Storage Wars as well as a silent auction. Following the main event, guests will enjoy one-of-a-kind wine tastings, a Veuve Clicquot champagne toast, a parting gift as well as the opportunity to mingle with the celebrity chefs.

The beneficiary, Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry program, was established to end childhood hunger in the U.S. by ensuring kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast, and families learn skills to shop and cook on a budget. To date, No Kid Hungry and its partners have provided more than 500 million meals.

Ticket levels: $250 per person for general admission from 3pm to 7.30 pm; $275 for VIP admission from 2.30pm to 7.30pm. Sunday, May 20th, 2018.

About Me

This blog is a journal of mostly my eating adventures, but also, other things I'm passionate about, including travel, the arts, and also, necessities to complete my life. Centered predominantly in and around Orange County, CA, some will extend to Los Angeles, San Diego and beyond. I am constantly searching for delicious food to eat and fun things to do, nothing is out of bounds. Sometimes it doesn't end well, but I can definitely say, it will always be an interesting journey.
