Maddox Ranch House — Utah

July 7, 2017 Mad Hungry Woman Leave a Comment

On the way back from Yellowstone National Park, we drove through several states towards Salt Lake City, where we were to catch our flight home. We stopped for lunch at Maddox Ranch House in Perry, Utah as my travel companions were intrigued by this restaurant which has been around since 1949. Named “Utah’s Original Steakhouse” […]

The Ranch at Bandy Canyon

January 4, 2017 Mad Hungry Woman 4 Comments

Last month, I was invited to visit The Ranch at Bandy Canyon located in Escondido, not far from the Safari Park. The property is situated in the hills of Escondido and offers up individual cabins ranging in sizes to fit your party. The history of Bandy Canyon begins in 1870 when John D Bandy staked […]

Cantonese comfort food in Sacramento

November 28, 2016 Mad Hungry Woman 1 Comment

I am always amazed by the quality of Cantonese food in the Bay Area regardless of what little hole-in-the-wall you happen to chance upon in certain neighborhoods. I am in Sacramento for a friend’s wedding last weekend, and my friend Carlos takes me to T Kee, a restaurant his Chinese colleague raves about. The restaurant itself […]

Back in April, some friends and I were discussing what I should do for my milestone birthday. The decision was to take a trip away and I picked New Orleans as our destination. After months of planning, six of my friends and I (and another joined later) flew out for a four-day adventure filled with fun, laughter, […]

November 21, 2016 Mad Hungry Woman Leave a Comment

On the train from New York to Washington DC, we scour Yelp and bookmark some places to try upon reaching our destination. After my conference, I have just enough time to visit a handful of places before leaving, one of which is Farmers Fishers Bakers. The weather is crisp and cool, so after we disembark […]

About Me

This blog is a journal of mostly my eating adventures, but also, other things I'm passionate about, including travel, the arts, and also, necessities to complete my life. Centered predominantly in and around Orange County, CA, some will extend to Los Angeles, San Diego and beyond. I am constantly searching for delicious food to eat and fun things to do, nothing is out of bounds. Sometimes it doesn't end well, but I can definitely say, it will always be an interesting journey.
